Our Story
Before the establishment of Abateraninkunga ba Sholi coffee cooperative, coffee was sold to opaque markets and at significantly low prices. Farmers were starting to lose interest as they couldn’t see the benefits. In 2008, thirty (30) brave women—founders of today’s cooperative—formed an association focused on small-scale farming and savings. By 2013, it became an autonomous cooperative now known as “Abateraninkunga ba Sholi,” meaning “mutual assistance” in Kinyarwanda.
Abateraninkunga Ba Sholi (Sholi) is a first-grade cooperative based in the Sholi Cell, Cyeza sector of Muhanga district, Rwanda. Founded in 2008 by 30 women, it revitalized the local coffee market and inspired inclusive community growth.
We are dedicated to producing exceptional coffee—grown with care and processed with precision to meet the highest quality standards. Our commitment begins at the root: from nurturing the soil to harvesting ripe cherries and preparing them for export.
